About Christ the King Community Church

OUR Beliefs

What we believe matters because

it shapes who we become.

"We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified dead, and buried. The third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven; and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty."

You may recognize those words as coming from the Apostles Creed. The Apostles Creed was written in the second century and it is a common confession of all Christians. Beyond our common confession, we also believe that:

  • The Bible is the inspired word of God.

  • God is our Creator, creating us uniquely to glorify Him.

  • Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior of the world.

  • Jesus died as the Lamb of God for the sins of all people.

  • The gospel offers free salvation through Jesus Christ.

  • Our eternal destiny is determined by how we respond to the gospel.

  • Water baptism is the first command of discipleship to those who believe.

  • Communion reminds us of Christ’s death and points us to His return.

  • The return of Jesus Christ is for us to give account of our stewardships.

  • The present ministry of the Holy Spirit includes power and gifts.

  • The church is a colony of heaven and the light of the world.

These truths are older than tradition and more modern than progressive. They are eternal. We don’t profess to have all the truth, but what we do have we adhere to.

These truths provide the standard for what we believe and do.

Our three-fold Ministry

SUNDAY MORNINGS

We gather to worship on Sunday mornings as the family of God. We worship through songs and prayer and receive a message from the Bible by a team of men and women. Once a month we share in communion. Our gatherings are at 8:30 and 10:30, and in between the two we have a time of fellowship called The Intersection.

CELL GROUPS

Cell groups are adult small groups that focus on becoming disciples. They gather weekly, are gender specific, and multigenerational. During the gatherings, they discuss and apply the message from Sunday service, pray together, and share their lives one with another.

KIDS CLUB

Sunday nights are all about the kids! Ages 3-18 are welcome to join in as we worship and dance together, play games, and get into the Word of God in a way that applies to every age group. We use the Awana curriculum for our study. Every Sunday night 4-6pm during the school year.

Our
Story

Christ the King got its start in 1985, when Michael and Linda Peters felt led to start a church. They, with a handful of other couples held their first meeting in a small room at the Holiday Inn in Clayton. Several locations and buildings later, we're a multi-generational congregation of around 250 people who call CTK home, gathering across two Sunday services. And we reach beyond Sunday mornings with our Kids Club on Sunday nights, and cell groups throughout the week.

Sunday services meet at: 9018 Big Bend Blvd, Webster Groves, MO 63119
