Luke 16:10 (ESV) One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

What it is speaking to me

Most big testimonies of faithfulness we admire have a contrastingly boring backstory. The missionary who stayed thirty years didn't start with a thirty year vision. He started with one obedient Tuesday, then another, then another, until nobody was counting anymore. That marriage everyone points to as super steady wasn't built on one grand gesture. It was built on ten thousand small choices. To show up, keep loving, ride out the fights, and keep pressing into one another.

Nobody sees most of those moments. The foundation of every story of faithfulness is laid in rooms with no audience, on days nobody wrote down, in decisions so small as to be hardly noticed.

Everyone loves the mountaintop big testimony of faithfulness but Jesus doesn't offer that shortcut. In gym terms, your faithfulness muscle is used every day in small ways so it can be used in big ways whenever it is needed. Whatever I'm doing with the very little today, whether anyone notices or not, is exactly what I'm building my capacity for tomorrow.

That's actually good news. It means I don't need a platform or a crisis to be faithful. I have opportunity today.

What is it saying to you?

What's one "very little" thing in your life right now, something small enough that skipping it wouldn't make headlines?

Where have you quietly let yourself off the hook because no one was watching anyway?

What are we going to do about it?

Identify one small, unglamorous faithful act you've been inconsistent with. Recommit to it today, not with fanfare, just quietly.
